Deanna Alford
Deanna has been a blessed member of the Catholic Women’s League since 2007. She first joined at the encouragement of a dear friend and mentor — affectionately known as “The Church Lady” — whose joy and deep faith left a lasting impression. What began as a simple invitation soon grew into a lifelong commitment to the League and its mission.
Over the years, Deanna has served her parish council as Faith Chair, President Elect, and President. She continues to serve as a Circle Captain, a Lector, a funeral volunteer and a member of the parish Music Ministry. Most recently, she joined the Parish Renewal Team, helping to bring the diocesan 5year Pastoral Plan to life within her parish community.
Deanna currently resides in Medicine Hat with her husband, Glenn, of 36 years. She enjoys an active lifestyle — hiking, biking, paddleboarding, crosscountry skiing, swimming, reading, and singing. Her love of community extends well beyond parish life. She volunteers with the Veterans Association, Medicine Hat Musical Theatre, Meals on Wheels, Cycling Without Age, and as a visitor at St. Joseph’s Seniors Residence. As a resident of Park Meadows Estates, she also serves as Chair of the Social Committee.
Deanna is honoured to serve the Diocesan CWL Council as Faith Chair. She sees this role as a beautiful opportunity to grow in faith alongside her sisters in Christ, supporting and encouraging one another as they live out the League’s mission of faith, service, and social justice.
