With Deepest Sympathy
Calgary Diocesan CWL Council extends our heartfelt sympathy to indigenous families on the tragic discovery of hundreds of unmarked remains detected on some former residential school sites. This confirmed loss of life affects families, survivors, and communities across Canada. We bear witness to the anguish and painful memories of the residential school system in Canadian history. We support Bishop McGrattan's commitment to develop a long-term pastoral approach to reconciliation and healing.
God of compassion and love, heal the families of lost children as they struggle to overcome this great injustice. Our hearts bleed for the sorrow that they bear. May our Lady of Good Counsel fill their hearts with love, wrap them in her mantle, hold them in her arms and bring them comfort. Amen.

In the world today, as perhaps never before, the church needs an enlightened and faithful laity. Dedicated members of The Catholic Women's League of Canada live their faith by serving others and, thus, discover Christ through relationships with others.
We are women of all backgrounds, ages 16 to over 90, wishing to serve God and Canada, seeking "faith, fun and fulfillment" together.
The Calgary Diocesan Council is comprised of all southern Alberta CWL Councils -- from Hanna in the north to Milk River in the south.
