Permission: The Film — A Spark for Renewal

What happens when you give God permission to work in your life? That’s the heart of Permission: Fr. Bob Bedard’s Vision for the Church — a new documentary that captures the life of a humble Ottawa priest whose “yes” to the Holy Spirit sparked a movement still growing today.

Fr. Bob’s story is one of everyday faithfulness, deep trust, and bold evangelization — much like what we’re being called to in our own Diocese through the Pastoral Renewal. His message? Don’t wait. Let the Holy Spirit move. Give God permission, and He will do incredible things — through you.

This isn’t just a film. It’s an invitation: Watch the trailer, share the film, or pay it forward at permissionthefilm.com | Full film can be watched here after its release on Pentecost Sunday, June 8, 2025

The Catholic Women’s League of Canada calls its members to grow in faith, and to witness to the love of God through ministry and service. Source: Mission Statement

In the world today, as perhaps never before, the church needs an enlightened and faithful laity. Dedicated members of The Catholic Women's League of Canada live their faith by serving others and, thus, discover Christ through relationships with others.

We are women of all backgrounds, ages 16 and over, wishing to serve God and Canada, seeking "faith, fun and fulfillment" together.

The Calgary Diocesan Council is comprised of all southern Alberta CWL Councils from Hanna in the north to Milk River in the south.

Prayers and a spirit of joy are important parts of CWL as members journey together in faith.

Life is a series of new beginnings;
make the CWL a priority in your life so we can journey together!
