The following resolutions were adopted at the 2025 national annual Meeting of Members:
2025.1 Federal Government to Create a Unified and Centralized Cybercrime Reporting System for Individuals in Canada
Resolved, that national council of The Catholic Women’s League of Canada in 105th national annual meeting of members assembled urges the federal government to create a unified and centralized cybercrime reporting system for individuals in Canada as recommended by the auditor general of Canada in its “Report 7 — Combatting Cybercrime.”
2025.2 Amend the Canadian Criminal Code Section 223(1) Defining When a Child Becomes a Human Being
Resolved, that national council of The Catholic Women’s League of Canada in 105th national annual meeting of members assembled urges the federal government to amend Section 223(1) of the Canadian Criminal Code to align with 21st century scientific evidence of the embryonic and fetal stages of a human being’s development from the moment of conception to birth therefore defining when a child becomes a human being.
2025.3 Strengthen Support for Chaplains to Provide Faith-Based Care to Members and Families of the Canadian Armed Forces
Resolved, that national council of The Catholic Women’s League of Canada in 105th national annual meeting of members assembled urges the federal government to strengthen support through funding for resources, staffing and time for chaplains to provide faith-based care to the members and families of the Canadian Armed Forces through the Royal Canadian Chaplain Service and Military Ordinariate.
2025.4 Federal Government to Complete the Development of the Office of Palliative Care
Resolved, that national council of The Catholic Women’s League of Canada in 105th national annual meeting of members assembled urges the federal government to complete the development of the Office of Palliative Care to ensure early, universal and equitable access.
